Keaton, the Keeshond, commissioned by :iconriquira-shina: as a birthday gift for her very close friend :iconenchantedtopaz:

:icondonotuseplz::iconmyartplz:

SO FREAKING CUTE.
He's made of minky and faux fur, with weighted legs and a squishy body. He's about nine inches tall, about twelve laying flat. Machine embroidered eyes and paws (his paws are spotty and different colours) and a mix of hand and machine stitching.
He was my second attempt at a floppy pattern with flexy legs, and he came out well.

Keaton belongs to EnchantedTopaz.
Already with his new owner recieving lots of cuddles!

Will put up more pics on my tumblr: dotdollplushies.tumblr.com/

Commissions are currently closed. Will probably reopen around january.

Oh I LOVE LOVE LOVE this design! I'm forever struggling whether to design my plushies standing or sitting, and how to somehow make them able to do both.
This guy is such a cutie! Awesome work!

Thank you! You make them kind of half lying down, like they're leaping, and then gently stuff the tops of the limbs with beads so they're floppy. Weighted pellets in the feet help too. It's so super cuddly!

Thanks for the tip! I hope you don't mind if I try it out too? Different pattern and overall design of course!

Ahhh I absolutely love the minky and fur you used on your doll? Are you getting these from any online store?  ;-; :heart:

The minky is from Plush Addicted (they call it "Smooth Cuddle" there, I think), an AMAZING site, never had a problem with them, and the furs are from the Mohair Bear Making Supplies site. A little pricey, but fabulous quality. Thier dispatch can be a little slow though, so plan ahead if you need fur for a deadline!

Thank you so much for getting back to me! You're super sweet! :heart: ;v;
I knew about MohairBear one but I didn't knew about the Addicted site. Their minky and the colour range is fantastic. Thanks a lot for the info! :iconaawplz:

You're welcome! ooh, yes, also, there's an ebay seller who does a lot of fur called Swincraft2. I've used them twice and on both occassions they were CRAAAAP. They have pretty good feedback, though, maybe I've just been unlucky, but they seem to be the only other "good" suppliers in the UK.

Ohhh I used the swincraft on ebay and they were pretty good ;-;
I mean, the fur quality was pretty nice. What was the bad experience you had?

I ordered two different "super luxury" furs on two different occassions and they were both literally cheap fun-furs! They were both stained and so different from the images on the site. In a push I'd try them again, but their customer service was terrible too...

Hmm that's really weird /:c
I was lucky to get the very good ones from that person.
I am guessing that sometimes you can tell which one is really luxurious when looking at the price.
If there are two furs and one is £19/per meter and another one is £39/ per meter
than obviously the second must be a bit better. [But not always!]
I never buy in meters so it's cheaper anyway.

Beside, sometimes it's good to take closer look at the photos.
I usually can tell, just by looking at how fur looks or reflects the light, if it's a cheap or high quality one.
Shit quality ones:
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Faux-Fur-Fa…
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SHORT-PLUSH…
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Faux-Fur-Fa…

High Quality ones:
[Got this one myself] www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Super-Luxur…
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Super-Luxur…
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Super-Luxur…

The good thing would be ordering free or cheap samples [swincraft offers them I think?]
before buying bigger slices of furs. These way you gonna spend only shipping cost and check which fur is what you are looking for ;v;
I do it sometimes myself when I like some fur but I don't want to risk spending money on it. Sample lets you know straight away if it's low or high quality fur xD

It sucks though that you got stained fur. Seriously wtf :c
I would be pissed if i spend money and got something like that ;-;
But to be honest since I found the mohair bear ones, I usually buy from them [unless they don't have certain colour of the fur than I have no choice but look on ebay in most cases]

Their furs look great, although some of them look really obviously cheap, but both were really quite pants. One had bald lines running up it too, every ten centimeters or so, like it was for trim on clothes with gaps for cutting it, but wasn't advertised as such. I think i've just been really unlucky with them. I do look there if I can't find anything on the mohair one, but... yeah. I think i'm just a bit scarred XD And they sell so much other stuff too, its hard to tell how much of thier good feedback is on the furs. Quite a lot of thier negative feedback is for fur or dyes, so I know I'm not the only one.
